Western Resource Advocates
Website design and development for non-profit Western Resource Advocates.
Western Resource Advocates (WRA) is a non-profit environmental advocacy organization working in seven states around the western United States. The new website design showcases the work of WRA and acts as a resource for information related to healthy rivers, clean power and the conservation of western lands.
This website extends the full power of WordPress as a highly customizable content management system. The site features six custom post types and taxonomies – or in English – six different “buckets” for information input on the backend. Each “bucket” has it’s own set of display rules, information input fields, categories and tags. This “bucket” approach is how we can keep big websites with lots of information easy to update and neatly organized. This also allows us to separate information by categories such as program area, state or staff member. This same approach works great for portfolios.
Some other features include:
- Interactive map
- Integrated donation section with secure online giving
- Full width, modern and mobile-friendly responsive layout
- Interactive poll
- Content filter tools for users to easily find information on areas and issues they care about
- Customized backend, making complex pages easy for staff to manage
